Oasis 2027 tour - latest news and updates

The band have announced it. Oasis Live ’27 is 38 shows across eleven venues, from five nights at Celtic Park in May 2027 to four at Knebworth in September - the site their own promoter licensed for 125,000 people a month before anyone was told why. The whole case that built through 2026 turned out to be right, and then some: nobody had called Las Vegas.

Noel was on talkSPORT’s Drive with Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent, booked to talk about Manchester City, when he was asked about the 2027 rumours. His answer: “Let’s put it this way: there’s no football tournament on next year, so we’ve got to do something in the summer, right?” When the presenters took that as a yes, he laughed and agreed that there “must be something happening”.

Why that carries more weight than the other quotes on this page: every band comment we had been tracking came from Liam. Noel had been the silent half of the story all year, and he is the one who decides whether Oasis tours. What it is not is an announcement - it is a joke on a football phone-in, it named no date, no venue and no number of nights, and we are not moving this page to “confirmed” on the back of it. It is the strongest signal yet from inside the band, and that is a different thing.

In the same interview Noel said he had already seen the band’s documentary and found it hard going enough that he did not plan to sit through the whole thing again at its premiere.

The documentary, and why the announcement may be waiting on it

Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger premiered at the Venice Film Festival at the end of August 2026, has a London premiere on 7 September, and reaches cinemas and IMAX on 11 September 2026 before streaming on Disney+ later in the year. Reporting suggests the tour announcement is deliberately being held until the film has had its moment, which would put dates later in September 2026. Treat that as what it is: a reported expectation with an obvious commercial logic behind it, not a schedule anybody has published.

The Knebworth licence, and why it changes things

North Hertfordshire Council has granted SJM Concerts a premises licence at Knebworth House. It permits events for crowds of up to 125,000 people, and it remains in place indefinitely. SJM are not a neutral party here: they are the promoter behind the 2025 Oasis reunion tour. A promoter securing a licence is not the same thing as a band announcing a show - venues and promoters hold licences for all sorts of reasons, and no artist is named on a premises licence. But it is the first hard, on-the-record document in a story that until now ran entirely on unnamed sources, and it landed days before the 30th anniversary of the 1996 shows.

Where things stand in August 2026

In early July, Manchester Evening News sources reported a 12-night homecoming residency at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium across May and June 2027, with talks of extending it to as many as 20 nights, plus a return to Knebworth as part of a wider tour. That reporting has since been restated by a source close to the band, and the Knebworth strand of it now has a licence sitting underneath it. What is still missing is the only thing that would settle it: a word from Oasis, their management or SJM themselves.

The reported September window at Knebworth

One detail we should have had on this page sooner. Since early July, reporting in the UK music press has put a figure and a month on the Knebworth leg: six nights across a three-week period in September 2027, separate from and later than the reported Etihad run. Six shows would make Oasis the only act to have played Knebworth six times. The caveat matters as much as the number - it comes from a single unnamed source close to the band, which is a weaker foundation than the council licence or the Manchester Evening News reporting on the Etihad, and it has been repeated between outlets rather than independently confirmed by any of them. The band, their management and SJM have all said nothing.

The Parklife move, and what it might signal

Manchester’s Parklife festival has shifted its 2027 dates into July, the first time in the festival’s history it has moved out of its traditional June slot. Fans read this as clearing the way for a run of Oasis shows at the Etihad in June. It is worth being careful here: neither Parklife nor the band has given a reason, and festivals move dates for plenty of ordinary commercial reasons. It is a signal, not evidence.

The Manchester hotel booking

The Manchester Evening News also reported that a luxury city centre hotel had been booked out in its entirety from the end of May through June 2027, for what sources described as the band and their touring entourage. Of all the circumstantial details, this is the one that most resembles the logistical footprint of a real residency - a block booking of that length is expensive and specific. It remains an unnamed hotel and an unnamed source.

What Liam Gallagher has actually said

Liam has been the most consistent public signal throughout 2026, without ever confirming anything. He ruled out this year outright - “We’re not doing anything in 2026, sorry” - which pointed everyone at 2027. Asked about Rome, he told Italian fans “without a doubt, 100 per cent”. And when the 12-night Etihad figure was reported, he replied to a fan on X with “12 I thought it was 10 ffs”, which reads as a man correcting a detail of something real rather than dismissing a fantasy.

He has also ruled out new music while pointing straight at the shows. Asked by a fan for a new Oasis album in July 2026 he replied “NO”, saying he was not prepared for the criticism if it did not sell 100 million copies in the first hour; and when a fan suggested they would not be hearing “Wonderwall” for a while after England’s World Cup run, he shot back that they would be hearing it “all nxt year”. More recently he has been publicly impatient for his brother to move - “Ffs RKID announce the tour we’re all losing our minds” - which is the context Noel’s talkSPORT answer landed into.

Knebworth, 31 years on - and the denial

A 2027 Knebworth return would fall almost exactly 31 years after the two 1996 nights that still define the band: 250,000 people across two shows, with a reported 2.6 million chasing tickets. That anniversary is why the rumour carries the weight it does - and the new licence is sized for exactly that kind of event, at 125,000 people per show.

The honest complication is that Liam posted “ITS NOT HAPPENING” about Knebworth in December 2025. We are not going to pretend that post does not exist, because plenty of pages covering this have quietly dropped it. What can be said is that the denial predates the current reporting by eight months and the licence by longer still, and that the party which has since gone and secured the site is the band’s own promoter. Both things remain on the record. Only one of them has a council document behind it.

When will we know?

Monday 14 September 2026, 4pm BST. That sentence has been guesswork on this page since July 2026 - two reported announcement windows came and went, in July and again in August - and it is finally a fact, put there by the band rather than by a source close to them. The timing also fits the one prediction that held up: reporting had the announcement waiting on the documentary, Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger, which reached cinemas and IMAX on 11 September 2026. Monday is the first working day after.

What we still will not know until 4pm is the shape of it: which venues, how many nights, which cities, and when tickets go on sale.
