Premium hospitality at the world's most famous race

The Grand National is the one horse race that people who never watch horse racing watch. It is run on Saturday 10 April 2027 at Aintree, closing a three-day festival that begins on Thursday 8 April - four miles and two and a half furlongs, thirty fences, and a maximum field of thirty-four runners over two circuits of the most demanding course in the sport.

Its reach is genuinely without parallel in British racing. The National draws the largest television audience of any race run in this country and is broadcast to well over a hundred nations, and it is the one day a year on which a substantial share of the British public places a bet. That universal familiarity is precisely what makes it work as a hospitality occasion: nobody in the box needs anything explained to them.

DN Global arranges premium hospitality across all three days of the festival, sourced through our network - restaurant packages, private boxes with balconies over the course, and hospitality suites in the grandstands. We do not publish prices. Tell us your day and your guest numbers and your named account manager will confirm in writing what can be arranged.

DN Global is not the official hospitality provider for Aintree Racecourse or The Jockey Club. Experiences are sourced through our network and confirmed to you in writing before booking.

What makes the National different

Everything about the Grand National is built at a different scale from the rest of jump racing. It is run over four miles and two and a half furlongs - roughly a third longer than the Cheltenham Gold Cup - across two circuits and thirty fences, with a maximum field of thirty-four. Most Group races carry eight to twelve runners. The National carries three times that, and the sight of them all going down to the first is one of the genuine spectacles of British sport.

The fences are the other difference. Aintree's obstacles are bigger and wider than standard steeplechase fences and are built to be jumped properly rather than brushed through at speed. Becher's Brook, the sixth, is notorious because the landing side sits significantly below the take-off side - horses arrive at ground that is not where they expect it. The Chair, the fifteenth and biggest on the course, has a six-foot open ditch in front of it and is jumped only once, directly in front of the grandstands.

The consequence is a race that is genuinely unpredictable in a way that championship racing is not. Favourites are beaten regularly, the winner frequently comes from well down the weights, and the finish is often decided in the final hundred yards after nine minutes of running. For a hospitality box in which half the guests have picked a horse from the racecard, that unpredictability is the entire point.

The three days

The Grand National Festival 2027

Three days at Aintree, of which the Saturday is the one everybody knows.

Opening Day · Thursday 8 April

The festival begins with a strong card of Grade 1 racing. Far easier to secure than the Saturday, considerably better value, and a genuinely good day's racing in its own right.

Ladies Day · Friday 9 April

A significant occasion in the Liverpool calendar, pairing quality jump racing with the city's best-known fashion day. Busier than Thursday, still far more attainable than Saturday.

Grand National Day · Saturday 10 April

The Randox Grand National closes the festival and the meeting. The most in-demand single day in British jump racing, and the first to be committed in hospitality.

Getting there

Aintree and Liverpool

Aintree station sits directly beside the racecourse on the Merseyrail Northern line, fifteen minutes from Liverpool Central - which makes this the easiest of the four major British race meetings to reach on the day. Liverpool is around two hours fifteen minutes from London Euston by direct train and about an hour from Manchester, and Liverpool John Lennon Airport is thirty minutes from the course.

Road access on National day is heavily congested and parking has to be arranged well in advance, so for a group arriving together the train is not merely preferable but genuinely the sensible option. We can arrange transport as part of your package either way.

Liverpool itself absorbs the festival well. The city has a large hotel stock and a strong restaurant scene, and Grand National weekend is one of the biggest weekends in its calendar - which means the atmosphere in the city on Friday and Saturday nights is a substantial part of the trip for guests staying over. Accommodation should be fixed at the same time as hospitality rather than afterwards.

Grand National 2027 hospitality FAQs

The Randox Grand National itself is run on Saturday 10 April 2027 at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is the closing race of a three-day festival that begins on Thursday 8 April with Opening Day, continues with Ladies Day on Friday 9 April, and finishes on Grand National Day itself. Most hospitality enquiries are for the Saturday, but the Thursday and Friday are strong race days in their own right and considerably easier to secure.

Scale and difficulty. It is run over four miles and two and a half furlongs - by far the longest of the major races - with a maximum field of 34 runners jumping 30 fences over two circuits. The fences are unlike those on any other course: bigger, wider and built to be jumped rather than brushed through. The result is a race in which the outcome is genuinely unpredictable and the finish is frequently decided in the last hundred yards after nine minutes of running. It draws a British television audience larger than any other horse race and is broadcast to well over a hundred countries.

They are the two most famous obstacles in jump racing. Becher's Brook is the sixth fence, notorious because the landing side is significantly lower than the take-off side - horses meet ground that is not where they expect it to be. It is named after Captain Martin Becher, who sheltered in the brook after falling there in the very first running in 1839. The Chair is the fifteenth and the biggest fence on the course, jumped only once, with a six-foot open ditch in front of it. Both are jumped in front of the grandstands, which is why the crowd noise builds as the field comes round.

Aintree offers restaurant packages, private boxes with balconies over the course, and hospitality suites across the grandstands, typically including a champagne reception, a multi-course lunch, afternoon tea, a hosted bar, a racecard and betting facilities within the venue. Grand National Day itself is the most in-demand and the earliest to be committed. DN Global is not the official hospitality provider for Aintree Racecourse or The Jockey Club - experiences are sourced through our network and confirmed to you in writing before you commit.

There is no formal dress code at Aintree in the way there is at Royal Ascot, and the meeting has a deserved reputation for being considerably less starchy. Smart attire is expected in hospitality venues and some premium restaurants require jacket and tie for men, but the general standard is smart rather than formal. Ladies Day on the Friday is a significant fashion occasion in Liverpool and guests may wish to dress accordingly. Your account manager will confirm the requirement for your specific venue.

Aintree station is directly beside the racecourse and runs on the Merseyrail Northern line from Liverpool Central in around fifteen minutes - comfortably the best way to arrive. Liverpool is roughly two hours fifteen minutes from London Euston by direct train, and around an hour from Manchester. Liverpool John Lennon Airport is thirty minutes from the course. Road access to Aintree on National day is heavily congested and parking must be arranged well in advance.

Very. It is one of the few sporting occasions that genuinely everybody has heard of, including guests with no interest in racing whatsoever - the National is the one race a year on which a substantial share of the British public places a bet. That shared familiarity does a great deal of work in a hospitality box. The three-day format also means a company can take the Thursday or Friday, which are far easier to secure and considerably cheaper, without the day feeling like a consolation.

For Grand National Day itself, as early as you can - the Saturday is among the most oversubscribed single days in British sport and the premium restaurants and boxes are committed many months ahead. Thursday and Friday of the festival hold availability considerably later and represent genuinely good value. We will tell you honestly which of the three days can still be delivered at the standard you are asking for rather than pushing you at whatever is left.
