There is more hard information here than on most 2027 tour pages, and it points in two directions at once. The band has confirmed a 2027 leg in their own words. The same night, the same man told a London crowd not to expect them back for years.

What Chris Martin actually announced

On 6 September 2025, mid-set at Wembley Stadium, Chris Martin told the crowd: “This tour has 138 more shows to go. We have a break coming up, and we’ll announce the shows for 2027 soon.” It was not a leak or a rumour or an industry source - it was the frontman, on a microphone, in front of ninety thousand people. That is as confirmed as a tour gets before a schedule exists.

The scale is worth sitting with. Music of the Spheres began in 2022 and had already passed 225 shows. Another 138 would take it beyond 360 in total, extending what is already the highest-grossing rock tour in history and only the second tour ever to pass a billion dollars.

The quote that cuts the other way

During that same Wembley run, Chris Martin told the crowd it would likely be the band’s last shows in the capital for several years. Both statements were made from the same stage within days of each other, and they are not contradictory: a 138-show world tour can be enormous without coming back to London. It does mean that the widely repeated line about a UK return being “expected” is not supported by anything the band has said. If anything, the only direct comment on the subject points away from it.

We are including this because several pages competing for this search do not. A page that omits the one quote working against the story it wants to tell is not reporting.

Why Wembley still gets named

Form, mostly. Coldplay have played Wembley on every UK leg since 2016, and in 2025 they set the stadium’s record with ten consecutive nights, two clear of the eight jointly held by Taylor Swift and Take That. The final show landed on Friday 12 September 2025. When a band has that relationship with a venue, it is the first name anyone reaches for - but routing history is not a booking, and no venue has confirmed anything for 2027.

Be careful what you read elsewhere

Several sites are already publishing 2027 Coldplay date tables. They are invented. There is no announced routing to reproduce, and search engines have begun flagging the problem directly. If a page shows you a specific 2027 venue and date, ask where it came from; the answer is nowhere.

Music of the Spheres is the highest-grossing rock tour ever staged and only the second tour in history to pass a billion dollars. It began in 2022 and had crossed 225 shows and five continents by the time it reached its Wembley finale in September 2025. It is the single most recognisable thing about the show and the reason photographs of it look the way they do. It also, quietly, changes what a seat is worth: there is no bad angle on ninety thousand synchronised lights, which is not true of a conventional stage production.

The sustainability programme, with the actual numbers

This part is usually described in superlatives that nobody can check, so here are the figures that were independently verified instead. Direct CO2e emissions per show ran 59% below the band’s 2016-17 stadium tour, confirmed by the MIT Environmental Solutions Initiative against an original target of 50%. Kinetic dancefloors and power bicycles fed the show’s own supply, roughly seven million trees were planted, and 72% of tour waste was diverted from landfill for reuse, recycling or composting.
