What the evening looks like

The BAFTAs runs as a broadcast ceremony, which means a fixed schedule and an early call. Guests are expected in place well before transmission begins, and the arrivals carpet on the South Bank runs for a good while before that. Allow considerably more time than the start time implies.

The Southbank Centre sits directly on the river between Waterloo and the National Theatre, which makes it one of the more straightforward central London venues to move a group around - Waterloo is a short walk, and the surrounding restaurants are used to pre-theatre timings.
